The American Rescue Plan and its $1.9 trillion of public investment in $1,400 checks, faster vaccine distribution, school reopening, unemployment insurance, small businesses, and aid to keep essential workers on the job has earned historic levels of support from Americans across the political spectrum. 

Here’s a rundown of some of the most recent polls:

Navigator Research: An overwhelming majority of Americans support robust public investment in the country’s infrastructure.

  • 80% of Americans support increased public investment to rebuild and repair the country’s infrastructure, including 81% of Independents and 75% of Republicans.

  • 78% of Americans, including 73% of Independents and 71% of Republicans, rate rebuilding our infrastructure as “extremely” or “very” important.

  • Two-thirds of Americans do not think state and federal governments are doing enough to improve America’s infrastructure.

Data For Progress/Invest In America: More than 68% of Americans support every major provision of the American Rescue Plan

  • 69% of voters, including 84% of Democrats, 65% of Independents, and 54% of Republicans, support the American Rescue Plan.

  • 67% of voters, including 77% of Democrats, 59% of Independents, and 61% of Republicans, support creating jobs through public investments in infrastructure, clean energy, and American manufacturing in order to fully recover from the economic downturn the pandemic created.

  • 58% of voters believe that we should prioritize passing the American Rescue Plan even if it increases the national deficit.

Politico/Morning Consult75% of voters support the American Rescue Plan.

  • 59% of Republican voters support the $1.9 trillion Covid relief package.

  • The American Rescue Plan is also supported by 56% of 2016 Trump voters and 55% of 2020 Trump voters.

  • More than 2 in 5 voters say the American Rescue Plan offers the right amount of support.

CNN61% of Americans support the American Rescue Plan by a +24 point margin. 

  • 85% of Americans, including 73% of Republicans, support policies in the relief package that would provide larger tax credits for families and make them easier for low-income households to claim.

  •  76% of Americans, including 55% of Republicans, support sending $1,400 stimulus checks per person to most families and individuals.

  • 59% of Americans are in support of providing $350 billion in aid to state and local governments. 

  • 66% of Americans say the American Rescue Plan will help the economy, and 55% of Americans say it would help people like them. 

Pew Research Center: 70% of Americans support the American Rescue Plan, and only a third believe the bill is too large.

  • 82% of lower income Americans, 67% of middle income Americans, and 60% of upper income Americans support the American Rescue Plan.

  • 63% of lower-income Republicans say they favor the American Rescue Plan.
