Voters Credit Democrats Over Republicans For Every Major Provision Of American Rescue Plan By At Least A +36 Point Margin
62% Of Voters Are Glad Democrats Delivered The American Rescue Plan Even Though Republicans Failed To Come On Board
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Rescue Plan continues to enjoy bipartisan support as American communities and businesses continue to feel the benefits of robust public investment. According to a new poll by Invest in America and Data For Progress, a majority of voters credit Democrats over Republicans for every major provision of the American Rescue Plan.
The poll also asked voters to share the impact of direct checks on their lives. Responses from Republican voters underscore the overwhelming popularity of robust public investment across the political spectrum.
“Americans across the country are continuing to see and feel the benefits of public investment as $1,400 direct checks are delivered and Covid vaccinations ramp up — and they know it was delivered by President Biden and Democrats,” said Maddy McDaniel, communications director for Invest in America. “The public investments in the American Rescue Plan are still overwhelmingly popular across party lines. Our leaders should listen to voters across the political spectrum who are giving them permission to continue to go big on large-scale investments in infrastructure, clean energy, and manufacturing to address the major problem facing our nation.”
The poll was conducted of 1,291 likely voters between March 19-21. Read more highlights from the poll below:
- 62% of voters are glad Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan even though Republicans failed to support it.
- 57% of voters believe now is the time to go big by investing in infrastructure to get Americans back to work and rebuild the economy.
