NEW POLL: OVERWHELMING MAJORITY SUPPORTS AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN & ADDITIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE, CLEAN ENERGY INVESTMENTS AFTER BILL ENACTED
69% of Americans — Including 54% of Republicans — Support The American Rescue Plan
Every Major Public Investment Within American Rescue Plan Tests Above 68%
67% of Voters, Including 59% of Independents and 61% of Republicans, Believe We Must Build On The American Rescue Plan Relief With Additional Public Investments In Infrastructure, Clean Energy And American Manufacturing
WASHINGTON, D.C. — A large bipartisan majority of voters support the American Rescue Plan, and agree that additional public investments in infrastructure, clean energy, and American manufacturing will be needed for the country’s economic recovery, according to a new poll released today by Invest in America and Data For Progress.
The poll was conducted of 1,429 likely voters between March 5 – 7. Key findings include:

69% of voters, including 84% of Democrats, 65% of Independents, and 54% of Republicans, support the American Rescue Plan.

67% of voters, including 77% of Democrats, 59% of Independents, and 61% of Republicans, support creating jobs through public investments in infrastructure, clean energy, and American manufacturing in order to fully recover from the economic downturn the pandemic created.

58% of voters believe that we should prioritize passing the American Rescue Plan even if it increases the national deficit.
“Not only is large-scale public investment necessary to grow our economy, it’s incredibly popular,” said Zac Petkanas, senior advisor for Invest in America. “There is overwhelming evidence that the American people want our leaders to go big by investing to create jobs and grow our economy through the American Rescue Plan — and then through more spending on infrastructure, clean energy jobs and American manufacturing.”
A majority of voters, including Independents and Republicans, support every provision in the American Rescue Plan:

78% of voters, including 73% of Independents and 74% of Republicans, support funding to ramp up coronavirus vaccine distribution and testing.

78% of voters, including 71% of Independents and 72% of Republicans, support $1400 stimulus checks for most Americans.

71% of voters, including 65% of Independents and 63% of Republicans, support extending and expanding the unemployment benefits set to expire on March 14.

88% of voters, including 79% of Independents and 86% of Republicans, support grants and low-interest loans for small businesses.

75% of voters, including 69% of Independents and 70% of Republicans, support funding to safely and quickly reopen schools.

78% of voters, including 72% of Independents and 75% of Republicans, support extending the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures and providing utility aids for struggling families.

68% of voters, including 59% of Independents and 63% of Republicans, support expanding Child Tax Credits and Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC).

76% of voters, including 74% of Independents and 68% of Republicans, support funding for state and local governments to keep essential workers on the job and distribute vaccines.
