STATEMENT: NEW LOW IN JOBLESS CLAIMS PROVES PUBLIC INVESTMENT WORKS, BUT MILLIONS ARE STILL COUNTING ON THE AMERICAN JOBS & FAMILIES PLANS
The American Rescue Plan Will Help Boost 2021 Economic Growth to 7%, According to the Federal Reserve — But Economy is Still Down Million of Jobs
POLLING: 62% of Voters, Including a Majority of Independents, Support Passing the Investments in the American Jobs and Families Plans Together Through Reconciliation
Overwhelming Majorities of Voters Support Investments in Clean Energy, Care, and Education — And Are Less Likely to Support Lawmakers Who Would Gut Those Investments To Pass Only One Bipartisan Deal
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jobless claims hit another pandemic low last week as 364,000 Americans filed for unemployment benefits, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. While the steady decline in jobless claims serves as proof of the nation’s economic recovery thanks to the American Rescue Plan, millions of unemployed Americans are still counting on the public investments in the American Jobs and Families Plans.
Invest In America’s spokesperson Maddy McDaniel issued the following statement:
“Plain and simple: public investments like the American Rescue Plan work. Thanks to President Biden’s robust economic agenda, America is getting back on track and back to work.
“While jobless claims continue on a path of steady decline, we still have a ways to go. Millions of Americans are still counting on the public investments in the American Jobs and Families Plans, which will create millions of good-paying jobs, improve the lives of middle class Americans, and allow the nation to continue to lead in an increasingly competitive global economy.
“It’s time to build on our progress and pass big, bold public investments in clean energy, care, education, and American manufacturing that prioritize the middle class and ensure that we can truly build back better.”
