State of the Recovery: What the American Rescue Plan Delivers to Each State
Thanks to the robust public investment in the American Rescue Plan, every state of the country is on the road to recovery. Overall, the American Rescue Plan provides about $145 billion for vaccine distribution, Covid testing, and tracing; $350 billion in aid to state and local governments to help pay for essential workers and vaccine distribution; and over $125 billion to help safely reopen schools. The legislation also includes $1,400 direct checks and a Child Tax Credit expansion that will provide between $3,000-$3,600 per child.
In the coming weeks and months, Americans will begin to feel the benefits of public investment as they receive direct survival checks and tax credit expansions to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads, as more Americans get vaccinated, and as state and local governments are able to safely reopen schools and keep essential workers on the job.
